I've just finished reading "Hotel Juicy", a book by Tsukasa Sakaki. It is a book about a young woman who gets transferred to work in a small guest house in Naha, Okinawa for the summer. The hotels name is "Hotel Juicy"; named after a type of Okinawan cuisine.
The lead character, Hiromi Kakiou struggles to overcome the strangeness of Okinawan culture and shocks herself as she begins to enjoy the sloppy yet personal way the hotel is run. Many strange and wild happenings occur at the hotel which all force her to change her perspective in life. Police, typhoons, betrayal, embarrassment, love, shock and friendship... A life lead without the interference of strangers is a boring life indeed.
An enjoyable read :-)
