TV has moved on in heaps and bounds

English TV, 1980's style.

I dont know why but I found this little clip interesting as well as funny. I never knew the BBC used to close down each night with the National Anthem...

Igirisu no terebi, 1980nendai.

Naze kono bideo ha sonna ni omoshiroi no ka hakkiri wakaranai ndakedo, omoshirokute, warawasete kureta.

Kokka de owaru nante shiranakatta.

Sorry for strange romanized Japanese***

hahaha, that's so weird
It seems so low-budget and crappy.
Everything seems so short and to the point without all the intro and outro clips and the station identity things.

The national anthem at the end (12:15) is so funny.
Thanks for posting this, it's a real gem.

By the way, I think the phrase is usually leaps and bounds ;)

Leaps and bounds... I knew it was something like that! >_<

Amazingly the national anthem was being played every night until the end of the 90's when News 24 started up and TV went on through the night.

Wonder what our TV will look like in 20 years time...? [m:28]

Ha!! what was the newsreader wearing?! When she said "....has shot himself" I laughed so hard... I think they would say this in a less hard way today, right?

Didnt the weather men even greet you with "hello" in the 1980's? It was all a bit tooooo direct and yet longwinded... for example, does the man really have to read out one by one what is showing? I can read by myself much quicker and with more interest...

Cant wait to watch the English TV again!
