I've heard lots of the "You've been in Japan too long when...." stories, but liked this as its a bit different. Below, in no particular order, are a variety of different people's answers when asked the question:
"What kind of culture shock did you experience when going to Japan?"
・ Large vehicles (such as emergency vehicles) announce their movements
・ People dont always ride their bikes in the same direction as the cars
・ Punctual buses
・ Bus drivers tell you when they are turning
・ Petrol station staff show you out onto the road
・ The cheap availability of cigarettes
・ How Japanese people say 'yes' when they mean 'no'
・ How spotless the cities are and how polluted the beaches are
・ ATMs are not open 24/7
・ Some restaurants only sell a certain kind of food (Ramen/Okonomi...)
・ Japanese twists and tastes on Western dishes
・ The high quality of produce
・ The contestants on most gameshows are famous already
・ When you go back to your own country nothing makes any sense anymore
・ Cool toilets
・ Pink rubbish collection vans that play ice-cream music
・ How well mannered the homeless people are
・ The feeling of safety
・ Crazy big bugs
・ Working 13 hours a day
・ English advertising despite the lack of quality knowledge on English
・ How people can take years to make a decision and then only seconds
・ to implement them
・ How much kids stare if you are white or black
・ The noise people make when eating
・ Most guys look like women
・ Businessmen in suits openly reading porn on the subway
・ How mobile the elderly are
・ How freaked out everyone gets over thunderstorms
・ How little physical contact people give each other
・ How high pitch girls voices can be
It made me smile anyway :)

...How the staff in shops say 'Thank you' when you leave even if you didnt buy nothing
Congratulatinos on passing your essay ;)I'm sure you will pass the others fine too!
Haha :) Both my sister and Elsa commented about how much they speak when you pay too. Especially Elsa as they just assumed she was Japanese...they assumed she was guiding me around, not the other way round... :)
