Hisahito is he?

He's a hito.

Today we found out the poor little baby's name who has just happened to be born a boy into the Japanese Imperial Family. And also just happens to sort out a lot of the succession problems.

Some of Japan's law's are stuck in the past, and this is one that sticks out like a sore thumb. It makes Japan look old-fashioned and bad - why cant their be an Empress? Whats so wrong with a woman leading the Imperial Family? And the worst of it all is, that this law isnt even that old. Its post World War 2. I hope that if Abe does take over from Koizumi after the election, he comes to his senses and says cute little Aiko can be Empress. That is, of course, if her mother would want to subject her to that after all that she's been through.

...

Anyhow.
His name? Hisahito. Considering his sister's names are Mako and Kako, its not bad. Reminds me too much of Hirohito though...

It could be worse. I taught a boy in Japan who's name was Kakusaka. This is one boy who shouldnt learn English. At least, he should never go to an English speaking country!! Nor should any Japanese girl named Saiko. ...

In SOAS London, theres a faculty member called Satona Suzuki which made me chuckle too. God knows why. (Coincidently, apparantley Jesus is buried in Aomori...)

Ah, Im in an odd mood. Forgive me.

Hey!
A few weeks ago you left a comment on my blog asking about work in Tokyo- I was there at the time. Sorry I didn't manage to reply, I was in a bit of a muddle at the time. Anyway, you asked about teaching work and I think it's pretty easy to find really. Apart from all the GEOS/ Nova/ Gaba posts, there are lots of other English schools advertising for positions. I figure this may be a bit late as you say below you've just got a job (well done). If it's any consolation, I understand your point about not going backwars- it's one of the reasons I left Japan (for now- I plan to get back!). So I'm back in London. If you ever need another Japan fanatic for company, let me know!

hi Chris, thats fine. Its an odd feeling coming back to grotty London huh? After being back 10 months I think I can finally say that I've finally gotten used to it again! Talk about reverse culture shock! >_<

Since writing that post I've decided to go back to square one and do a degree, so I'm stuck here for the next 3 years. After that... who knows? Could be Japan. :)

Just took a look at your blog again... Japan food alert! :) Got any recommended Japanese restaurants? Ive been to a few in London, I love Yoisho in Goodge Street, although its pretty expensive :( Whatever you do, avoid Wagamama like the plague! :)

I'm a bit stressed out at the moment with Uni starting and work ending (and holidays YIPPY!!) ...but after all thats died down and if you are still in London, sure we can meet up :)

Good luck with the job hunt!
