あいのり

Ive kinda become addicted to Ainori, a Japanese reality show, that I only ever watched twice in Japan!

Airing on Monday nights, Ainori, is a reality show where seven young men and women travel the world riding a pink bus. The purpose of the whole programme is for the riders to fall in love and go back to Japan as a couple. When someone has decided they like someone else, they ask the a native of the particular country they happen to be traveling in at the time for a ticket (this is normally the driver). They then present the ticket to the person they like. If the person who recieved the ticket kisses the other person within the next day or so, they can return home to Japan. If they dont kiss, they will say sorry, and get back on the bus. But, the one who presented the ticket has to go back to Japan alone - no love found. Whenever someone leaves the bus, new people are added to the programme.

This week's episode was pretty shocking. One of the girls -GOKI- in the bus went to the staff room to announce she was in love. "With who?!" they ask. "The sound man.." she replied. Uh-oh. Its prohibited for the members of the bus to fall in love with staff, they can only fall in love with one of the 7 bus members. The soundman refused to know her, saying "Ive never spoken to her." However, the man who was hoping to leave to go back to Japan with Goki heard this and was furious. He quit the show. Goki, knowing she caused all the ill-atmosphere, and forever awkward around the soundman who she was in love with but who now refused to even know her, felt guilty. She also quit the show.

2 people quitting means 2 new people ^^

With the popularity of Ainori, I doubt it will ever end...!

check out the D-Addicts link to the left under the LIKE JAPAN? header. If you have BitComet or a similar programme (downloadable for free) you can watch Japanese TV.

This is such a great programme. Unfortunately I can't get it in my area, so I have to try to piece together the scenarios from the website. I never saw the sound guy thing coming. Seems like something from MTV's The Real World...
