落語

昨日、Ladbroke Groveのパブで落語を見に行った。「SHOW-KO」と言うの落語家はロンドンで住んでる日本人だから、日本語じゃなくて、英語で言ってた。

さぁ、 私の初めての落語・ショーはどうだと思った?　

えっとーー・・

ショーは、私の好みではなかった。子供向きだと思ったから。私の日本人の友達は「普通に、落語は子供向きのショーじゃない」と言ったから、見に行ったけど、このショーは多分、フツウではない. 私見によれば、Mr Kakushow、Show-koの特別ゲストはショーの中に、一番おもしろかった。あの人はPaper cuttingをしていました。Paper Cuttingはおもしろくないことだけど、Mr Kakushowはおかしかったから、おもしろかった。

Maybe it was just that I felt Show-ko was trying to hard to try and impress. Maybe it was because she only told one Rakugo joke in a 45 mins or so show. She was much better at the beginning, when she was just telling jokes than when she was doing the actual Rakugo. I think she should change her job, be a stand-up comedian, not a sit-down one!

Show-ko = Good rakugo show for kids.

...isnt it strange - the kanji for Rakugo - 落語 - .
I thought it was 楽語 until I looked it up in the dictionary...
I guess its 落 because they sit-down huh?
