全く異なったじゃん!

First day of school. I knew things would be different, but I never realised how much. I felt like crying when I found out four of my favourite teachers are leaving. Life won't be the same without them. I can only hope the good teachers have remained at my other school*.

As well as that, 6th grade teachers have become 1st and 2nd grade teachers, whilst the 1st grade teachers have become 5th and 6th grade teachers. That's a completely different kettle of fish for them! I'm not entirely sure if I agree with this Japanese educational system, particularly the part where the teacher doesn't even find out which school/classes they will teach at until six days before the start of term. But hey, who am I to judge.

My classes have completely changed too. My town has arranged their very own 'English Lesson Schedule' which I have to follow. It's completely different from last years, so I've got lots of new stuff to prepare before Monday. That's if this new schedule ever gets signed off.... To top it all off, they are expecting me to translate it all - for free - in a couple of days. It's incase the next ALT after me can't speak Japanese. That's not in my job responsibilities...

Still, at least the sun has finally made an appearance. I can't believe it was snowing here when I left for England.

*Update: By the looks of things, the good teachers have remained at my other school. Looks like I won't be teaching with "bad-ass" teacher anymore too...

あ! さっき気づいた。 幹事が間違えって書いちゃった。 「約す」じゃなくて、「訳す」です ;;
