HUGE 'cake' (bread...)

I have travelled thousands of miles from home and am now living in Tokyo. I am not living in a typical 'Gaijin House' such as Oak House or Sakura House, but a guesthouse where 80% of the residents are Japanese. Today, I have a new next door neighbour. We said our greetings in Japanese and then I returned to my room. But... whats that I hear... he is on the phone in his room... speaking in English... London accent....

Yup. My new neighbour is a cockney Londoner from Bethnal Green.
Feels a little strange...
