Tobu Tojo line trains running in both directions were delayed for over 2 hours during rush hour today due to "someone under a train" (as they'd say in Rondon). From here.
I'm crap at translating, but...
also as the news is still fresh, different sites have contradictory information, but...
A woman (this site seems to say a man and a woman, but other sites say just a woman) was spotted supposedly acting suspiciously as though she was going to jump in front of a train. The policemen at the policebox nearby was notified and he was killed whilst trying to save the woman who was trying to commit suicide. The woman was also seriously injured, but she survived. Life is cruel. The policeman who died was well respected in this area, he reached the news recently for the support of planting trees in memory of lost loved ones, and should never have died fighting to save someone who wanted to die.
Why am I mentioning this? Well, its about 30 seconds away from where I am staying. I use this line and this station everyday. Luckily trains were running again by the time I needed to use it, but as I got off the train at Tokiwadai I had a fright.
Look!!! An advertisement for the Juku I worked at in 2005.
Ha!! I never knew they did outdoor advertisements!!
I never knew they had a FREE PHONE TELEPHONE NUMBER!
And a website too??
...EH!? Shinjirarenai yo---! Bikkuri sugiru!!
Watashi ha konna ni warui dezain shita koukoku to kankei ga nai you ni shitai ki ga shite shimatta kedo naa... Shachou, gomen! Kondo, koukoku ga dezain shitai toki ni, watashi ni choudai ne. (warau)
(After trying to phone my boss I realised - the free phone number on the advert is no longer active. After looking for the website on the internet, I realised, that too is no longer running. As organised as ever then!)

I'm getting worried - with all this talk of suicide. Hope the interviews aren't going t.h.a.t badly... :(
Why is suicide so common in Japan? Social lifestyle pressures? Thats why people choose to be homeless, right?
