Hi Ben :) it was a kind of pack with instructions and everything inside telling you how to make it. Unfortunately, my one was a gift from Hong Kong, but I'm sure you must be able to buy something similar in England or on the internet... if i see anything I'll let you know.
They sell something similar in some stores of WHSmiths. It looks like you can make it yourself from start to finish, although I havent looked at it in that much great detail. It was in the kids section at Easter time, so should be still about... take a look!

A nice pink or light blue blue scarf will set him off nicely :) I might try... i doubt I can remember how to knit though...!
