Basically, its about a boy who finds a notebook on the floor at school. He picks it up and thinks its a prank when he reads that if he writes down a persons name whilst thinking of their face in the notebook, they will die in 40 seconds. He tests it. And again. And again. It works! He decides it is his duty to rid the world of all evil and starts killing all the criminals. The police, suspicous that 200 prisoners have died of heart attacks in one week, go on a mission to find the killer, nicknamed "Kira". But who will get who first? Especially as theres another, more dangerous **stupid** Kira on the loose...

Hey... you liked that film? --Watch the anime, its much better, but I felt it lost the plot a bit towards the end? Like they wasnt sure where they should go? As if they would let Lights father still lead the investigation if his son was under suspicion?! Even if it was only 5%!
The film was more realistic the way they handled Penbar's fiance's actions though... But I doubt she'd would have actually shot her in real life...

Aw... you should watch it, its not really horror, more thriller? or 'detective-y'? I've only watched one episode of the anime though...

I thought that was strange too - Lights dad being on the team when he's under suspicion. But I guess it was because they didnt have many police anyway(?) Only watched ep1....
