I havent done anything for yonks now due to my mid-life crisis in September (!), but last year I did a bit of free translating. Turns out 'my' work has been edited and now available for reading on the net!! Ha!

...Well, yes, I translated it, but its been edited alot. By an American I assume. Or, at least, a Japanese person who's learnt American English.
Or maybe its just me? Maybe I'm just being too proud of the way I translated it? I know my English goes a bit strange whenever I translate anything. If you speak British English, how would you say the below? A1 or A2?
A1. Earlier I heard those girls saying that he'd gone home already.
A2. Earlier I heard those girls saying that he'd already gone home.
Now I read it like that, it makes no difference, and yet, when you read it in the context of what I translated, one of them just sounds so American.
...Yup. I think too much. >_<

They're the same, arent they? The intonation might change a bit, depending on what came before/after. I'd freely use any of them
Though maybe I'm not the best person to ask - English is my 3rd language!
