香港 ? Hong Kong ^_^

もう一ヶ月香港から帰りました。香港には、たくさん人が住んでいました。たくさん！　電車や、道や、路面電車や、船など、どこにでも、たくさん人がいました。でも、香港人はちょっと・・・　ちょっと無礼だと思いました.
I don’t want to seem as though I didn’t like the Hong Kong society, as I thought they were very helpful and friendly, its just when you are in queues, they seemed to practically stand on you. I know that because it’s a small and crowded country that their personal space might be smaller than mine, but one time I had a young boy leaning on my back. It felt as though his body was resting on by back like I was some kind of wall, the parents knew, but didn’t seem to care that their boy was misbehaving. I had many people literally push past me, shoving me out of the way! I was very shocked to experience this behaviour.
Naively, I assumed that the people were going to be more similar to the Japanese. Of course, it’s a different country. Its like saying the French are like the English. I was silly to be so naive.



香港はとてもきれいな国ですよね。The landscape of the country makes it stunning. I went to Deep Water Bay and loved the views of hills in the distance. At Po Lin Monastery the views once you’d climbed the 268 steps were fascinating, considering it’s such a crowded country, it’s surprising how much land is unbuilt upon.
(Little tip: Buy water at the several shops before you climb the steps…. If it’s a hot day like it was when I went, you’d be glad of it!!! Also, once you get to the top, things get expensive… Similar to London prices that is…!!)

も、ロンドンより、とても安かった！　私は大きいレストランで、PORK CHOPを二つと、野菜と、御飯と,味噌汁と、コカコーラと、全部で￥３５０ぐらいだけです！　￥３５０！　ロンドンよりずっとやすいです。
だから、私はたくさんを買いました！ I was well fed in Hong Kong! The food was delicious! :) I wanted to be adventurous, and looked for a restaurant selling snake soup that my guidebook recommended, but it lead us to a block of flats. It was a shame, I fancied trying Snake Soup!! You can tell what restaurants are hygienic and what one’s aren’t - use your initiative!
(Another tip of advice: DON’T BUY the AA Citypack Hong Kong guide ? we found many things in the book to be misleading and often incorrect. The Rough Guides guidebook has no pictures and LOADS of text, but it IS more helpful!)

服も安かった。If you are like me, short and thin, you’ll love the clothes in Hong Kong. They fit beautifully, and consequently, I bought lots of t-shirts and trousers for work.





I know I had a bit of a moan about Hong Kong at the beginning, but I’d totally recommend it to anyone. People told me that 2 weeks was too long. It wasn’t. There’s plenty to see and do, islands to visit, and you can pop into China or Macao with the right Visas. The plane fare might be expensive, but eh stay there can be done extremely cheaply ? just eat where the locals eat!! ?The foods likely to be better there anyway-

The Japanese influence on the country is something to see as well!!

For a cheap place to sleep, I recommend "Lee Garden Guest House" near Nathan Road, below... ^_^ いい道ね？！
